The Ghazi Attack – TL Review

The Ghazi Attack – The movie opens with the baritone voiceover of Big B and sets the tone of this move, which is the story of attack by the Indian Navy on Pakistan’s submarine Ghazi. Based on intelligence reports that Pakistan is going to attack a port in India, S-21 an Indian submarine is sent to the sea. The captain of S-21 is Ranvijay Singh (Kay Kay Menon) who is accompanied by officer Devaraj (Atul Kulkarni) and Lieutenant Arjun (Rana Daggubati).

Meanwhile as Ghazi is all set to attack INS Vikrant, S-21 is given the mission to prevent it. Will S-21 be able to do it, what will happen to Ghazi, this 125 mns thriller will reveal it all.

You will be actually awed on seeing the sheer brilliance of this movie. The war life in submarine should be an eye opener for most of us. The difficulties which the officers face in the testing environment is overwhelming to watch.

The movie is technically very effective. Recreating an entire submarine for the movie turns out to be impressive as very minute details have been taken care of & this is where the movie gets its top marks. Cinematography is superb and the back ground score is very good. Editing is very crisp and ensures the viewer interest in the movie all through the 125 mns. Dialogues are treat to watch and will give you the pumped up feeling at the right time.

Kay Kay Menon as the stern commander has given a superb performance. Ekdum restrained and effective in his acting. Rana Duggabati as the young captain is very impressive and excellent in the 2nd half of the movie. Atul Kulkarni, Satyadev and Tapsee give a good support. Even Rahul Singh as the Pakistan commander is good. Also liked the late Om Puri & Naseruddin Shah.

This movie strengthens the fact that we as normal citizens are able to sleep well in our houses and carry on with our normal lives only because of our armed forces and this movie is a salute & tribute to all of them. Kudos to director Sankalp Reddy for this superb effort.

A special mention of the 2nd half because with each event unfolding on the screen you will actually feel the pain and the pride along with all the officers on the submarine, as if you are actually on the submarine itself.

Some of my favorite dialogues from the movie:

1. Jung joh hai…Shaheed hokar nahi … Dushman ko shaheed karke jeeti jaati hai

2. Jeet ek aisi cheez hai joh khud chalkar tumhare paas nahi aayegi … usse ladkar haasil karna padta hai..jo ki aaj hum karne wale hain

3. Itihaas mein hum ho na ho … lekin Hindustan ke bhavishya mein hum zaroor honge

Guys if you have not yet seen this movie than just grab your mobile and book the tickets. Seldom are such wonderful movies made !!
