Myths about hair loss
Washing your hair very often can cause thinning. False. With shampoo you are only cleansing the scalp. It doesn’t affect the roots. The fallen strands are those that have likely come to the end of their natural cycle anyway.
When heat is applied by using hair dryers, straightening and curling irons, our hair gets stripped off its natural oils and proteins making it more dry and susceptible to damage. To protect the hair it is important to use styling products that contain SILICONES, which acts as a protective coating for your hair. Make sure to use good quality styling products. If styling everyday, try starting with lower temperature on your styling tools and work your way up if required.
Diet to avoid hair loss
Hair is made up of 90% protein. A diet low in protein can lead to hair loss. Good sources of protein include eggs, meat, soya, legumes and pulses.
